“I Told You So!”

On November 15, 2001, I was run over by a drunk driver.  I sustained traumatic brain injuries which affected my memory; word-finding skills; ability to smell and taste, partial facial paralysis on the left side of my face due to three broken bones which surround my left eye; my peripheral vision was damaged to the point of seeing things/people that were not there; broken ribs; a broken right femur; blood clots in the right leg; and a sciatic nerve problem that I had had since the age of about 10 had gotten worse after the accident.

I remember being in the hospital and having many doctors come in to stare at me. They all told me that it was a miracle that I survived.  At that time I simply believed that the miracle was that I had not physically attacked the drunk driver.  The idea of physically hurting him was one of the thoughts that constantly occupied my mind.  The other thought was of suicide.

Because of the injuries, the doctors temporarily assigned me to a wheel chair. I felt the loneliness someone in a wheel chair feels when they are in a department store or at a theatre.  Everyday I was in that wheel chair was another day that I wasted being angry with God, hating the drunk driver and thinking about suicide.  I spent the next six years hating life and falling further and further into depression.

By April 25, 2008, I still could not smell or taste, I still had partial facial paralysis, a blood clot in my right leg and a sciatic nerve problem.  But I attended the “Signs, Wonders and Miracles” conference given by Dr. Harfouche and Brother Norvel Hayes in Crystal River, Florida.

During the meeting, I got up to use the bathroom and did not hear Dr. Harfouche’s altar call for someone with my problems.  But thankfully my dear friend found me and asked that I go up to the altar.  I walked up to Dr. Harfouche and told him of the injuries I still had.  I believe the first two I mentioned were my inability to smell or taste and the partial facial paralysis.

After Dr. Harfouche put his hands on me, I was able to smell.  Then he asked me what could I smell and I replied, “You.”  You see, I could smell some sort of men’s cologne on him.  Dr. Harfouche asked me to smell a bottle of what I believe was perfume.  I inhaled and it smelled of flowers.  Also, I was able to feel the left side of my face.  I have not been able to do this in over six years.  My right leg has not swelled up as is its “norm” due to the blood clot nor has the sciatic nerve problem I have in my left leg been a problem.  This sciatic nerve problem was always evident when I would sit for hours.  But, having attending all of the “Signs, Wonders and Miracles” conferences, I have not once felt it act up.

I just went to see my doctor for a previously scheduled appointment.  I had made the appointment prior to being healed.  When I informed my doctor that I was no longer on my blood clot medication, he insisted that I go have an ultra sound.  I did so to appease him.

The ultra sound test proved to my doctor that I no longer had a blood clot.  I don’t like to say, “I TOLD YOU SO” but I will as soon as I see my doctor again.
