The Champion Blog – Part 2

Jesus found us, and identified us as raw material when it seemed that we did not have potential. He identified us differently when the rest of the world labeled us chumps. He said, “No, they’re not chumps – they’re champs. I’m going to take them out of the world, take them off of the street, and bring them into my house, put them in training camp, and take care of them. I’m going to educate them. I’m going to inform them. I’m going to help them. I’m going to make champions out of them.”

And as a child of God, we know who’s in our corner, and we have to be willing to work with the Man who’s willing to work with us. Jesus can only tell me to pray. He can only tell me to study. He can only tell me to believe. He can only tell me to receive, but I have to work with the Man who’s working with me, otherwise He can’t help me.

You’re a champion. You’re called to greatness. It’s all been mapped out. It’s all been charted out. Others have walked in it to a certain measure. They’re recorded. We have their stories. We know the way, but it takes more than watching the video, wearing the glasses, and looking at the photographs to become a professional fighter. It takes more than having footage. It takes more than knowing the address of the gym. It takes more than owning a jump rope. It takes more than looking at the heavy bag. It takes more than wishing, and it takes more than wanting. It takes more than believing you can if you would. It takes a decision. Somebody’s got to decide, “I can stay at this level, living like every other average Joe for the rest of my life, or I can seize this opportunity to be equipped, to be trained, to rise up, and to become what God has called me to be.”

Every fighter has gotten angry at their coach at one point or another, but the wise ones just go ahead and push through the emotion, and then it’s all forgotten. When they get in that ring and they get to the 9th round, or when they have three to go and they know it was that extra road work, it was that extra study; it was that extra training that enabled them to knock out the opponent. Then the champ says “Thank you, trainer.”

When Jesus found us we were not champions… but He saw the potential in us to become champions. Listen to your trainer, listen to Jesus, and you will always be a champion. Don’t fear and never give up. At the end of the good fight of Faith your trainer will be there to say “Good Job”, and with a robe and a crown we will celebrate the completion of a glorious victory.

We are taking Territory! See you when the Champions Gather!
