We Got Our Car!
The past few days have been miracle after miracle! Saturday night, a situation that could be potentially very bad arose. It was raining very hard and our car hydroplaned off the road stopping inches from a telephone pole. Our car was totaled but we didn’t have a scratch on us. Thank God for protection!
The next morning at church, the body prayed corporately over several prayer requests including ours, “a new car within 2 days!” The moment my wife and I agreed on the car we wanted and the price we wanted, we went to work. We called the dealership and gave them our offer: 55% of their retail asking price… the salesman almost hung up on us! He tried showing us other cars “in our price range” but we did not budge. In the meantime, we submitted an application to the bank for the price WE wanted to pay. The salesman called back and lowered the price to 70% of the original price, but we still did not budge off of what we had agreed on – 55%. Then we got a call from the bank saying that the person who normally approves loans was home sick and they could not approve it that day without e-mailing it to some people who were higher up.
With the bank closing in 30 minutes and the dealership unresponsive to our offer, things looked like they were not lining up… then my wife said, “we should pray.” Just like Joshua, the sun did not go down on our day of victory. We received a call back 10 minutes later with approval from the bank at a phenomenal interest rate. The dealership still hadn’t called us back, so we decided to show up there. Long story short, they ended up giving the car to us at 50% of the original price, which is even better than what we asked for! Thank God for the reward of the prophet! We received the EXACT car we wanted, for LESS than we wanted, in under two days!
